I have the DJII 116300 with the smooth bezel. Wear it constantly (except for changing the oil in the car) and I haven't had any problems with scratches. I was looking for more of an everyday watch so I went with the smooth bezel over the fluted. Flip side is that it has only been noticed once, and that was by a fellow Rolex enthusiast.
