I am in the market for an Explorer II Polar ref. 16570, but am uncertain which movement to choose from. either the calibre 3185 or the 3186. My two options are as follows; 1999 Swiss-Only Dial, A Serial, holes case with hollow end links (3185) or a 2007 Swiss Made Dial, M Serial no holes case with solid end links (3186). To answer your question, the engraved rehaut is not a clear indicator that the watch houses a cal. 3186. There are M-series watches that have the engraved rehaut + cal. 3185. Any 16570 from 2009 (V serials) or newer will 100% have the cal 3186. If someone is advertising differently, they've most likely swapped out the correct movement. Good luck!
